Dr. Pablo Alonso
Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Alonso’s skills and experience includes leading physicians and organizations in managing value-based care reimbursement models, physician engagement, and developing patient-centric organizations focused on patient quality and safety. While at CAC-Florida Medical Centers (today known as Conviva), Dr. Alonso played an invaluable role during their expansion across the state of Florida, leading the organization’s physician-oriented value-based care initiatives with a special focus on geriatric patients. Dr. Alonso has held additional leadership roles as Medical Director at IMC Health Medical Centers and CareMax Medical Centers. Additionally, he practiced Emergency Medicine at Palmetto General Hospital and served as Associate Medical Director of the Emergency Department as well as a member of the hospital’s Executive Committee.
Under his leadership, Dr. Alonso has exemplified a longstanding passionate commitment to patient health, value-based care, population health management, and to collaboratively promoting the delivery of high-quality medical care.
Paying it forward, Dr. Alonso shared his experience to shape future health leaders as an associate professor at the Nicole Wertheim College of Nursing and Health Sciences at Florida International University.
Dr. Alonso received the degree of Doctor of Medicine from the Universidad Central del Este in the Dominican Republic. He completed residency in Pediatrics at Elmhurst General Hospital in New York City, and a fellowship in Ambulatory Pediatrics at Winthrop Hospital in Mineola, Long Island. He is board certified in Pediatrics. Dr. Alonso completed a second residency in Emergency Medicine at Beth Israel Medical Center and Elmhurst Hospital in New York City receiving the Robert Altman award for excellence in Emergency Medicine.
