Dr. Juan Rivera is a board-certified internist and cardiologist who trained at Johns Hopkins University and specializes in prevention, early detection, and treatment of cardiovascular disease. A respected medical expert, author, and beloved TV personality, Dr. Juan is a frequent guest on Good Morning America and host/co-creator of the My Abuelita Told Me series on WebMD. Additionally, he is the Chief Medical Correspondent for the Univision TV Network and hosts a popular weekly program on Univision called Dr. Juan. He was recently named one of 2020’s Top Health Influencers by PR Week.
In addition to his success as a trustworthy bilingual voice in medicine, Dr. Juan maintains a private practice at Mount Sinai Hospital in Miami Beach. Now, he has teamed up with Cano Health to share his cardiovascular expertise with our patients.

Dr. Veronica McCloskey has joined her esteemed colleague Dr. Juan Rivera and Cano Health as the Chief of Cardiology at Healthy Heart by Dr. Juan, a premier institute for cardiovascular prevention.
Dr. Veronica McCloskey is a general cardiologist who has a special interest in preventive cardiology. Prior to joining Cano, Dr. McCloskey worked as a clinical cardiologist for MD Associates in Broward, Florida. She held the position of Assistant Professor of the Columbia University Division of Cardiology at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach until 2019. She was also Assistant Professor of Medicine at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago, IL before that. Dr. McCloskey is a preventive cardiologist but also specializes in the area of echocardiography and cardiovascular imaging.
Dr. McCloskey received her B.A. in Natural Sciences from The Johns Hopkins University. She then received her M.D. from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine. She completed her residency in internal medicine at the University of Virginia Health Sciences Center. Dr. McCloskey served as a cardiology fellow at the University of Maryland Medical System where she also served as an assistant instructor in Medicine. Finally, she obtained advanced echocardiography training at Northwestern University. She is board certified in cardiology, nuclear cardiology and echocardiography.
Dr. McCloskey’s mission is to provide excellent and high value preventive care to patients at risk for cardiovascular disease. With the opportunity to envision and realize the future growth of the Healthy Heart Cardiovascular Institute, she hopes to bring cardiovascular prevention to large populations in the community, to keep communities healthy and free of heart disease.
She is married with two children and enjoys music, dancing, and traveling with her family. Dr. McCloskey is also fluent in Spanish.
