Generally speaking, it is difficult for the patient to identify where exactly the pain is coming from, so the chiropractor has to find the joint or structure causing pain. Many pains are caused by Disc herniation (Slipped disc), Central stenosis, Sacroiliac joint syndrome, Lateral dynamic stenosis, Piriformis syndrome and Modic changes. Fact is, these ailments are persistent and irritating, so the sooner they may treat them, the better you will feel.
Your chiropractor will make “adjustment” to the areas where you feel stiff, sore, or in pain. These adjustments use leverage, force, and strength at specific joints in order to relieve the tension that has built up there.
Your chiropractor will most often make these adjustments to the spine, but he or she might adjust other joints, such as the ankle, knee, wrist, elbow, or shoulder in order to restore structural alignment or to improve joint function. Again, proper structure is necessary for proper function, and proper extremity function is an important part of healthy daily living. Your chiropractor may also recommend lifestyle change, such as posture correction, stretching, or physical activity in order to promote a more flexible spinal column.
The Cano Chiropractic team is dedicated to giving you back or even improving your range of mobility that could be hampered by back pain. This back pain may be caused by sore muscles, poor posture, or a more serious injury like from a fall.
